Despite a late rally Pocklington came up short at Morley losing 25-19.
Pocklington were straight on the back foot, but from an eighth minute break down the left through Flynn Sangwin and Freddy Peel, they went through the phases and Sangwin appeared on the opposite flank to dive over from Matty Downes' offload.
Christian Pollock's conversion dropped just short, but his penalty on the quarter hour built an eight-point lead. Morley resumed the offensive, Pocklington conceded three successive penalties and yellow card and Morley crossed wide out to reduce the arrears.
Pock raided from the restart, culminating in another Pollock penalty before the half's last minute saw a tale of two kicks. A Pock clearance went straight to a home wing who danced upfield, then Morley's kick behind evaded Pock's cover for a second home try and 10-11.
After scoring from a kick to the corner at the first half's death, Morley pinned Pock back with a slide-rule boot immediately on the restart. Pocklington made last-ditch tackles, but pressure told as Morley burrowed over to lead for the first time then added a penalty to extend it.
Strong Pock pack carries brought Pollock's third penalty, before Morley responded with another try into the closing quarter.
Though Morley held the upper hand, Pock remained dangerous on the break, and a back's burst was taken on by the forwards before Rob Boddy dived over on the left for 25-19 and a late lifeline.
In the dying minutes Pock had good positions to go for a winning score; but a catalogue of errors meant they could not turn pressure into points and Morley held out for victory.
Pocklington Colts and Womens teams both won on Sunday. The Colts beat Bradford & Bingley 45-19 with tries from Jamie Hoggard (2), Freddy Peel (2), Jake Barnes, Rupert Sawyer and Luke Sissons with Alfie Dunn kicking five conversions.
The Women led 8-0 against York after an hour's slugfest thanks to Ellie Randall's try and penalty. The game then suddenly burst into life with York's three long distance tries, but Grace Lee's close-range double and a Randall conversion saw Pock home 20-19.
