The funeral will take place next Friday (7 August) of former Pocklington player, vice-president and supporter, John Eastwood, who died last week after a short illness aged 85.
A local lad, John played for Pocklington in the late 1950s and 1960s before moving with family and work to York, where he also turned out with Rowntrees RUFC. But he never gave up his Pocklington connections, regularly meeting up with former Pock teammates and being a loyal supporter on the touchline at Percy Road for decades.
The club sends its condolences to John's family. His funeral service will be held at York Crematorium on Friday 7th August at 2.20pm, and afterwards at The Winning Post.
